To the editor: Kudos to Kristen Welker of “Meet the Press” (“Trump, after baselessly alleging fraud in California vote again, storms out of NBC interview,” June 7).

On nationwide tv, she dared to not again down from President Trump’s insolent remarks. I hope that this would be the second when the press begins to push again at Trump’s disrespectful conduct, even when it means potential expulsion from entry.

Welker’s pushback jogged my memory of Adm. William McRaven’s wise counsel to the College of Texas graduating class in 2014. “If a shark begins to circle your place,” he warned, “Stand your floor … And if the shark, hungry for a midnight snack, darts in the direction of you — then summon up all of your energy and punch him within the snout, and he’ll flip and swim away.”

We noticed Welker do precisely that. She gritted her enamel, stiffened her again and pushed again onerous on Trump as he tried in useless to intimidate her. To make certain, Welker paid a worth for her braveness with a truncated interview, however she in the end stood tall because the victor for ladies and all reporters. Trump, alternatively, left the interview trying small and petulant.

    ..

To the editor: Whether or not Welker, Lesley Stahl, Kaitlan Collins or different journalists interview Trump one-on-one, the outcome is identical: churlish, petulant conduct, insults, name-calling and boorish manners.

Moreover, no matter he utters is fantasy or out-and-out fabrication. The most important networks have to halt this parade of pros victimized by an uncouth, misogynistic playground bully. As an observer, it pains me to observe these charades. This public humiliation has to finish.
