    Kristi Noem vows investigation into Border Patrol death of Alex Pretti

    Homeland Safety Secretary Kristi Noem vowed Sunday to conduct a radical investigation into the Border Patrol-related loss of life of 37-year-old Alex Pretti, expressing sympathy for his household whereas questioning his actions on the scene.

    “I am grieved for them. I actually am. I am unable to even think about dropping a baby,” Noem mentioned throughout an unique interview on “The Sunday Briefing.”

    “We won’t have people which are impeding law enforcement operations after which exhibiting up with weapons and weapons and no ID and confronting legislation enforcement like that is without doubt one of the causes that we see conditions like this unfold,” she continued.

    “I feel everyone can study from this case. I am grateful for legislation enforcement that put their lives on the road day-after-day to go on the market on the streets and attempt to deliver criminals to justice and shield the general public, and we’ll proceed to ensure the precise factor is finished, this investigation is completed, and that we proceed to go ahead, and we implement the legislation and apply it equally to everyone within the nation.”

    Noem beforehand defended the agent’s actions as self-defense.

    Pretti’s dad and mom, Michael and Susan Pretti, responded after the incident Saturday, saying they’re “heartbroken but in addition very indignant,” and condemned the model of occasions introduced by legislation enforcement as “sickening lies.”

    “Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his household and associates and likewise the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse on the Minneapolis VA hospital,” the couple wrote.

    “The sickening lies advised about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He has his cellphone in his proper hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head whereas attempting to guard the lady ICE simply pushed down, all whereas being pepper sprayed,” they continued.
