    ZURICH: Two Swiss lawmakers requested prosecutors to look at whether or not presents by Swiss enterprise leaders to US President Donald Trump, together with a Rolex watch and a gold bar, violated Switzerland’s anti-bribery legal guidelines, though a supply near the delegation mentioned they complied with the legal guidelines of each nations.

    Switzerland this month struck a framework agreement with the US to cut a 39 percent tariff on Swiss goods to 15 percent. The deal got here 10 days after a delegation of Swiss enterprise leaders visited Trump within the Oval Workplace, bearing the presents.

    “The presents had been introduced to the Presidential Library on behalf of the group who attended the assembly, in full compliance with each US and Swiss regulation,” an individual near the enterprise delegation advised Reuters, including that the presents had been cleared with the White Home ethics counsel.
