WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump mentioned on Friday (Oct 31) the United States and Canada won’t restart trade talks, however Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney apologized to him for an Ontario political advert utilizing former President Ronald Reagan saying tariffs spell catastrophe.

“I like him loads, however what they did was incorrect,” he mentioned. “He apologized for what they did with the industrial as a result of it was a false industrial.”

Carney didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.

Trump referred to as off negotiations final week over the commercial aired by the Canadian province of Ontario, including he was growing tariffs on Canada by an extra 10 per cent.

The advert by the Ontario authorities featured Republican icon former US President Ronald Reagan saying that tariffs on overseas items result in commerce wars and job losses.
