To the editor: If you wish to get a legislation modified or a challenge funded by the federal government, look to the bicycle lobbyists (“L.A. says bike lanes on Pico Boulevard would boost safety. Merchants fear fallout,” July 16). They’ve achieved greater than any particular curiosity group you’ll be able to identify. On California roads which can be already overloaded with automobile site visitors, we dedicate area and misspend tens of millions of {dollars} so a minuscule variety of entitled folks can extra simply trip their bikes. And now, our already inadequate parking spots on Pico Boulevard are in danger.

Who’re these few bicyclists we spend a lot cash on? My private commentary is that almost all of them are serial site visitors violators, however our police forces don’t trouble to ticket most of them.

To the editor: As acknowledged on this article, the vehicles are going too quick and pedestrians are being harm and killed. The answer is to place pace bumps on Pico to decelerate the site visitors. This solves all of the issues of store homeowners and neighborhood residents, because it nonetheless permits for parking to be maintained. Plus, bike lanes could be added so long as the pace bumps don’t lengthen into them.
