    CARACAS: Venezuelan authorities launched a minimum of 60 individuals detained throughout protests in opposition to President Nicolas Maduro’s re-election early on Christmas Day (Dec 25), in response to a human rights advocacy group.

    The arrests adopted mass demonstrations after Maduro secured a 3rd time period in July 2024 elections that have been extensively criticised by the opposition and worldwide observers as fraudulent.
