    US capital sues Trump govt over police takeover

    WASHINGTON: The legal professional common for the US capital Washington has sued Donald Trump’s administration over what he referred to as a “hostile takeover” of town’s police drive, which the Republican president stated was essential to combat violent crime.

    “That is an affront to the dignity and autonomy of the 700,000 People who name DC house.”

    Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser, a Democrat, stated late Thursday that “there isn’t a statute that conveys the District’s personnel authority to a federal official”.
