“The strike was carried out within the open sea in Ukraine’s unique financial zone, exterior the vary of Ukrainian air defence techniques,” the assertion mentioned, accusing Russia of breaching maritime legal guidelines.

The navy mentioned it was in touch with the ship’s captain.

On Friday, Russia attacked two Ukrainian ports, damaging three Turkish-owned vessels, in response to Ukraine’s navy. A big fireplace broke out on a kind of ships.

The assaults come after Moscow threatened to “reduce Ukraine off from the ocean” after Kyiv’s assaults broken three ‘shadow fleet’ tankers heading to Russia to export its oil.
