    WASHINGTON: United States President Donald Trump introduced on Thursday (Sep 25) new tariffs on prescription drugs, big-rig vans, dwelling renovation fixtures and furnishings.

    Beginning Oct 1 “we will likely be imposing a 100 per cent Tariff on any branded or patented Pharmaceutical Product, except a Firm IS BUILDING their Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Plant in America,” the Republican wrote on his Reality Social platform.

    In a separate put up, he wrote of a 25 per cent tariff on “all ‘Heavy (Huge) Vans’ made in different elements of the world” to help US producers similar to “Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner, Mack Vans and others”.

    He mentioned the truck tariffs had been “for a lot of causes, however above all else, for Nationwide Safety functions!”

    Earlier this 12 months, the Trump administration launched a probe into imports of vans to “decide the results of nationwide safety”.
