Federal staff who aren’t intently monitoring Elon Musk on social media could also be fully unaware there’s an ultimatum on the desk.

Whereas the administration did ask federal staff to listing their accomplishments — the e-mail didn’t state that those that failed to reply by the deadline can be fired.

That risk solely comes from Musk on social media.

CEO of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk speaks on the Conservative Political Motion Convention, Feb. 20, 2025 in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

And he doubled down on Monday morning, writing: “Those that don’t take this e mail significantly will quickly be furthering their profession elsewhere.”

It raises the query: who is absolutely calling the pictures right here? Elon Musk or the federal companies telling their staff to not reply?

Are federal staff supposed to trace Elon Musk on the social media platform he owns for steering?

That is no simple job. For context, Musk posted greater than 150 instances on X this weekend alone.

Musk Monday morning is constant to behave as if he does have authority over the federal workforce, threatening staff with administrative depart if they don’t return to work this week.

“Those that ignored President Trump’s govt order to return to work have now acquired over a month’s warning,” Musk wrote this morning on X. “Beginning this week, those that nonetheless fail to return to workplace will likely be positioned on administrative depart.”
