To the editor: The billionaire Tom Steyer has spent greater than $200 million on his personal marketing campaign for governor (“Record-setting outside money pouring into California governor’s race,” Could 26). As an alternative of making an attempt to purchase the election for governor, why doesn’t he spend $100 million on college districts, one other $100 million on tuition grants, then perhaps one other $100 million on grants for medical analysis? That leaves him at the least $700 million to make investments for himself to rebuild his billionaire standing. Californians are bored with billionaires claiming to know what it’s wish to be struggling like most individuals.

To the editor: Maybe one of the best clarification for the large quantities of cash spent on the governor’s race is a quote from the Mel Brooks movie “Historical past of the World, Half I”: “It’s good to be the king.”
