Japan’s Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers didn’t disappoint Friday within the World Baseball Basic in Tokyo.

The famous person completed a triple shy of hitting for the cycle and drove in 5 in Japan’s 13-0 win over Taiwan. Within the second inning, the four-time Main League Baseball MVP blasted a grand slam and seemed to be in midseason type.

Ohtani had one hit in three spring coaching at-bats earlier than becoming a member of Japan within the WBC.

Shohei Ohtani’s Dodgers teammate Yoshinobu Yamamoto struggles

Although Ohtani and Japan stole the present with the offensive eruption, teammate Yoshinobu Yamamoto struggled. In 2.2 innings towards Taiwan, the 2025 World Sequence MVP for the Dodgers allowed three walks and struck out two on 53 pitches (33 strikes).

In two spring coaching begins, Yamamoto allowed 4 runs (three earned) on eight hits and struck out seven in 4.2 innings.
