    KYIV: Ukraine’s navy said on Sunday (Jul 19) that Russian missile strikes on a Turkish-owned cargo ship carrying grain had killed 5 individuals on board, whereas one other 5 crew members had been lacking.

    Russia launched three cruise missiles on the Golden Leo, which flies the flag of Guinea-Bissau, because it was “leaving the fight zone with a cargo of grain”, the navy mentioned in a press release.

    “That is one more deliberate strike by Russia towards an unarmed civilian vessel flying a international flag that posed no navy risk in any way,” the assertion mentioned.

    “The assault constitutes an act of terrorism towards peaceable navigation and a gross violation of worldwide humanitarian regulation,” it added.

    A press release from Ukraine’s International Minister Andriy Sybiga mentioned the crew had included residents of Syria and India.

    “A Ukrainian maritime pilot was killed, in addition to 4 crew members, eight crew members had been evacuated and 5 nonetheless stay lacking,” he added.

    “Whereas the world continues to be responding to Russia’s brutal in a single day assault on Kyiv, Moscow continues its marketing campaign of terror all through the day,” he mentioned within the assertion, posted on X.

    Russia fired two dozen ballistic missiles at Kyiv in a single day on Sunday, killing one particular person and wounding 16.
