SYDNEY: Australia’s Qantas was pressured to divert a flight certain for the US over a disruptive passenger, with native media reporting the person bit a flight attendant.

The flight from Melbourne was headed to Dallas on Friday (Could 15) when it was pressured to make a cease in Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia, because of the disruptive passenger.

The person was restrained by fellow passengers, with native media together with nationwide broadcaster ABC reporting he bit a member of Qantas employees.

The person was met by native authorities on arrival and has been slapped with a no-fly ban on all Qantas planes.

“The protection of our clients and our crew is our primary precedence and we’ve zero tolerance for disruptive or threatening behaviour on our flights,” a Qantas spokesperson advised AFP on Sunday.
