To the editor: It seems that President Trump’s peace talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin could happen with out the total participation of Ukraine.

If that’s the case, there’s a risk of a sellout much like what befell in 1938, when Nice Britain and France authorised of Adolf Hitler’s demand that the massive German-speaking components of Czechoslovakia be annexed by Nazi Germany. The Czech authorities was not current at negotiations.

Upon his return to Britain, Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain proclaimed that he had secured “peace in our time.” Winston Churchill, then a member of the Home of Commons, harshly condemned this settlement as appeasement, as have historians since then.

In March 1939, Hitler seized all of Czechoslovakia. It was then that Chamberlain acknowledged the limitless imperial greed of the German tyrant. What adopted was the British and French assure of Poland’s safety. In September 1939, when Hitler invaded Poland, Britain and France declared struggle on Germany, and World Conflict II started.

In 2014, Putin occupied Crimea and backed separatists within the jap provinces of Ukraine, areas through which Russian audio system make up a big proportion of the inhabitants. After the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, he annexed these provinces.

The U.S. authorities stance has been extremely ambiguous. The present secretary of Protection has declared that these components of Ukraine annexed by Russia would most likely not be returned to Ukraine.

On the peace talks, will the U.S. appease Russia within the identify of “peace”?

To the editor: In 2022, we noticed pictures of the useless our bodies of civilians slaughtered by Russian troops and left within the streets of Bucha in Ukraine. That’s what Putin calls “peace.”

Now Trump is getting ready for extra “peace” by rescinding sanctions on Russia and its oligarchs and abandoning the Ukrainians after they’ve survived years of Putin’s ongoing struggle crimes. Are we Individuals so gutless that we’re going to let Trump hand Putin this victory?
