    SYDNEY: New Zealand’s conservative coalition authorities will introduce a Invoice in parliament on Monday (Aug 24) that seeks to ban kids beneath 16 from utilizing social media, and proposes fines of as much as 10 per cent of a platform’s world income for non-compliance.

    The Invoice would require social media platforms to take affordable steps to confirm customers’ ages, together with through the use of present account info, facial know-how and digital id paperwork.

    “We merely can’t settle for the hurt being executed to a era of New Zealand kids,” Prime Minister Christopher Luxon stated in a press release.

    “Social media is exposing them to dangerous content material, addictive know-how and pressures they don’t seem to be outfitted to cope with, and it is affecting their household life, psychological well being, sleep, and training,” Luxon stated.
