    WELLINGTON: Properties in New Zealand’s capital have been flooded with faeces and sanitary merchandise on Friday (Jun 5) after an in a single day storm blocked wastewater pipes, town’s utilities firm mentioned.

    Wellington Water mentioned the wastewater overflow within the picturesque suburb of Island Bay was the results of a blocked most important.

    “There’s a suction truck onsite on the overflow,” Wellington Water mentioned in a press release.

    Island Bay resident Richard Peters informed nationwide broadcaster RNZ the “disgusting” scenario worsened when the flooding went down.

    “It was actually items of poo on the bottom, tampons and brown water,” Peters mentioned.

    “Feral and disgusting.”

    New Zealand’s MetService mentioned it recorded greater than 5,000 lightning strikes in a single day in Wellington as a thunderstorm dropped 25.7mm of rain on town in a two-hour interval.
