    ‘Multiple’ fatalities reported in shooting in northern Canada, officials say

    “A number of” fatalities have been reported from a taking pictures within the Cree First Nation neighborhood of Mistissini in northern Quebec, Canada, in accordance with the neighborhood’s chief, Michael Petawabano.

    “Our hearts are heavy with grief for the lives misplaced and the households affected by this tragedy,” Petawabano stated. “We ask all neighborhood members to stay calm, keep indoors, and cooperate absolutely with police as they conduct their investigation.”

    Petawabano in an announcement warned {that a} lockdown was in place following a “severe taking pictures incident.” All faculties and neighborhood buildings have been closed and residents have been suggested to stay of their houses, the assertion stated.

    Two native forces — the Eeyou Eenou Police Drive and Sûreté du Québec — had begun an investigation into the taking pictures, he stated.

    “The lockdown will stay in impact till legislation enforcement confirms it’s protected to renew regular actions,” Petawabano’s assertion stated.
