Former Duke Blue Devils quarterback Darian Mensah joined the Miami Hurricanes this offseason. An enormous paycheck is not the one motive he transferred.
The Hurricanes paid big money to lure the QB to Miami. Mensah, 21, is reportedly set to make $6.5M in NIL (identify, picture and likeness) offers in 2026, making him the highest-paid athlete in school sports activities. This includes a partnership with Derby Watch Provide, a luxurious watch seller.
The cash and the bling are nice, but when it is the one factor the Hurricanes supplied, Mensah could have gone elsewhere. He clearly needed to start out for a program that would win a nationwide championship and ship him to the NFL. Miami checks each of these containers.
