To the editor: Aaron Mahan, the Las Vegas waiter who voted for President Trump twice earlier than 2024, is only one of thousands and thousands who will undergo tremendously by the administration’s actions (“This Las Vegas Republican had high hopes for Trump. But a ‘Trump slump’ made life worse,” Oct. 19).

He says he’s apolitical, which means that he didn’t pay a lot consideration to what goes on in Washington. That’s precisely the sort of voter the Republicans want of their quest to cast off our democracy. Identical to the farmers who are hurting, he needed to have identified from Trump’s first time period that many individuals had been going to undergo if he had been elected once more. They didn’t care till it hit them.

It’s so unhappy to witness how the Republican Occasion was in a position to infect extra of our society with their lack of empathy.

    Alex Magdaleno, Camarillo

    ..

To the editor: Mahan blames Trump for the vacationer stoop in Las Vegas? Now that you would be able to guess on nearly something on-line from the consolation of your sofa, why go to Vegas? However after all, it all the time needs to be Trump’s fault.

    Al Wiseman, Playa del Rey

    ..

To the editor: In line with contributing author Josh Hammer, “the largest motive” Trump gained the 2016 Republican major is “he noticed the American folks as they’re, and he sought to serve them” (“The Democrats’ self-defeating shutdown is terrible politics,” Oct. 17).

I agree. Over the last election, calling out the excessive value of eggs was sufficient to win.

Now, most individuals I do know are like Mahan, working tougher for much less with their anxiousness compounded by considerably increased prices, particularly for medical health insurance. Might that be why weeks into the “Democrats’ shutdown,” so many attended “No Kings” protests?

If the administration actually desires to “serve” the folks, swear in Rep. Adelita Grijalva. However word on the street is Republicans gained’t do this as a result of she could be the vote that releases the federal recordsdata on Jeffrey Epstein. I believe People agree we don’t need our elected officers defending pedophiles. What are Hammer’s ideas on that?
