To the editor: Thanks, Mr. President?
Most of my family and friends would in all probability be shocked to see me thank President Trump. However I simply noticed by way of my on-line banking that my spouse and I are every receiving $90 from the U.S. authorities (“Trump announces $90 payments for seniors on Medicare for premium costs,” Oct. 3).
Excited about the way to reject this blatant effort to attempt to purchase our votes, I made a decision to donate $90 to Democratic candidates, all of whom are being massively outspent by Republican tremendous PACs and billionaires and trillionaires (Elon Musk reportedly plans to spend greater than $100 million on the midterms) to elect Republicans. In the meantime, Republicans in Congress have refused to uphold their oath to offer a test on the administration’s undoubtedly unconstitutional and unlawful actions.
I cut up my $90 3 ways and donated $30 every to James Talarico, Democrat operating for Senate in Texas; Dan Osborn, Democrat operating for Senate in Nebraska; and David Jolly, former Republican congressman, now operating as a Democrat for governor in Florida.
In case you are retired, have obtained the $90 to purchase your vote and don’t want the cash to pay hire or purchase meals and gasoline, I urge all of you to protest this lawless administration and to contribute your $90 to a candidate or charity of your selection.

To the editor: I’d prefer to thank our president for sending me $90 by means of Social Safety that that rascal Joe Biden stole from me. I do know I shouldn’t look a present horse within the mouth, however I’m undecided what to do with this horse. The $90 will nearly pay for a tank of gasoline, nevertheless it doesn’t actually assist me a lot with my medical and prescription drug prices. I pay a further $297 per thirty days for a Medicare Half B complement, and $2,400 out of pocket yearly for pharmaceuticals till my Half D insurance coverage kicks in. It looks as if a one-time $90 refund is only a drop within the bucket.
Whereas I admire the gesture, I’m positive our authorities has higher issues to spend this cash on, like waging one other week of conflict, constructing a greater ballroom or possibly a pleasant arch. However don’t get me fallacious, I’ll discover one thing to spend the $90 on. It simply gained’t be a tank of gasoline, as a result of I drive electrical.
