To the editor: The information that the Trump regime is backing away from its plan to arrange an almost $1.8-billion slush fund for individuals who declare unfair therapy (together with, doubtlessly, Jan. 6 rioters) is a ray of sunshine amongst what looks as if an limitless assault on democracy and the rule of legislation (“Trump’s $1.8-billion fund unravels amid court setbacks, bipartisan pushback,” June 1). This reveals that President Trump and his minions should not resistant to public and political outrage over their actions. This reveals that no, Trump isn’t a king — he might be defeated, his actions might be reversed.

That is the time for all democracy-loving People to push again even tougher. We should all write to and name our representatives and senators to allow them to know we oppose this administration, to take part within the “No Kings” rallies and, most significantly, to vote.

    Mike Greene, Oceanside

    ..

To the editor: So lastly, even the Republican senators have had sufficient of Trump’s schemes and have maybe put a cease to considered one of his worst needs. Even his most supportive Republicans will need to have cringed when Trump, on his first day again in workplace, pardoned the entire Jan. 6 rioters who stormed our cherished Capitol constructing.

However the opportunity of paying them for doing this? My God. I assume that even the GOP senators who bow all the way down to all of Trump’s most irresponsible calls for couldn’t swallow this.
