To the editor: I used to be very fascinated with studying about Becky’s Ebook Membership’s longevity of 25 years (“The ‘baby of the group’ is 83: How a Pacific Palisades book club remains unbreakable,” April 28). It exhibits how essential it’s not solely to learn, however to come back collectively and share concepts and maybe philosophies on what you learn.

Our membership, The Readers’ Circle, started in 1988 when myself and a fellow tennis participant determined we liked books however would learn extra if we may focus on them with others. Thankfully, my good pal was a e book facilitator and agreed to guide a gaggle for dialogue if we may put one collectively. We solicited our then-tennis associates and we had been launched.

There was a quick interval of inactivity throughout COVID, however we momentarily switched from house conferences to Zoom. Even with that, it was nonetheless a heat and interesting group with new folks to interchange these we misplaced over time.

Some books we liked, some we hated, however we learn and mentioned all — and nonetheless stay up for the subsequent assembly.

    ..

To the editor: Top-of-the-line issues I’ve performed in my life was beginning a e book membership at age 30. This summer time, will probably be 35 years outdated!

We’ve mentioned so many books over so many nice dinners. We’ve additionally been there for one another within the good and dangerous occasions of our lives. I treasure these expensive associates.
