To the editor: The Los Angeles Instances’ account of what occurred to Wilber Urbina Garcia by the hands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement is a narrative of such pointless callousness and cruelty it left me breathless with rage and sorrow (“He graduated high school with honors. ICE detained him the next day,” June 17). That that is occurring throughout our nation is nearly an excessive amount of to bear.
We preserve saying we’re higher than this, however are we anymore?
In response to the story, an ICE agent mentioned “she’ll be subsequent” about Garcia’s sister, who will flip 18 quickly. Who may say this to a shocked household who simply watched their son and brother hauled away from them? Right here’s hoping this man is “subsequent” to be faraway from ICE or from any place of authority.
Thanks a lot for printing this story, and I hope each massive newspaper and media outlet within the nation picks it up. Folks must know.

To the editor: Wow! I really feel a lot safer realizing that this 18-year-old highschool graduate who has aspirations to be a physician is off the streets and in detention. The worst of the worst.
My soul has a lot rage at this administration for the entire harmless lives it’s destroying. I’m not solely disgusted by the president of our nation, however I’m much more disgusted by each cowardly individual (learn: Republican) in Congress who permits this to occur.
Get out and vote, individuals! We’d like that change in 2026.
