To the editor: I couldn’t disagree extra with George Skelton’s column (“Instead of bashing other Democrats, Newsom needs to look inward,” April 7). I listened to Newsom’s podcast the opposite day — all 90 minutes of it — and couldn’t be extra impressed. Newsom is partaking with the opposite aspect, which is strictly what must be carried out, particularly because the Democrats (of which I’m one) develop into more and more clueless about what voters actually need. I discovered quite a bit concerning the disillusionment voters are feeling — to the extent they might decide a convicted felon over a candidate from our personal celebration. I encourage everybody to pay attention and be taught.

To the editor: I admire what Newsom is attempting to do together with his podcast. My father and grandfather have been each attorneys who loved avid debates on the dinner desk. I bear in mind how throughout many of those discussions, one aspect would possibly begin to elevate their voices in argument. At that time, my father would press the maintain button and point out that argument is to be carried out logically, not emotionally. The purpose was, that as impassioned as one is perhaps on a specific topic, it was higher to develop into higher knowledgeable and later carry up the argument once you had extra ammo in your belt. Emotional and loud argumentation was not tolerated.

To the editor: I’m a left-leaning registered impartial — and an enormous fan of Newsom’s podcast. Following the election in November, I wished actual solutions and explanations, not the repetitive, self-serving excuses that stuffed the liberal media bubble. So I sought out podcasts, books, information sources and interviews that offered balanced reporting and evaluation of each the left and proper sides of our political divide. It was by this seek for various, more-balanced data sources that I found the “That is Gavin Newsom,” podcast, which I discover refreshing and informative.

I don’t care concerning the governor’s political plans however tremendously admire his willingness to ask open and probing questions, to have interaction in civil dialogue and to debate subjects which can be at occasions unfavorable to him personally and/or to the Democratic Get together. There’s a lot for his celebration to be taught from these and different comparable bipartisan discussions, whether it is to be a viable contender in 2026 and past.
