To the editor: I’m not nervous about election day (“Why chaos on election day is highly unlikely,” Oct. 13). Sure, there will probably be some kerfuffles, some residents disenfranchised, many intimidated.

I’m, nevertheless, very involved in regards to the days, weeks and months following Nov. 3. All the polls point out that Republicans will take a beating. And as we’ve discovered earlier than, they don’t hand over energy gently.

The president, seemingly shedding his majority within the Home and probably within the Senate, is not going to be complacent when his agenda is denied. If Democrats pursue investigations and penalties in opposition to his individuals, as he has finished repeatedly to theirs, it’s exhausting to imagine he will probably be accepting.

I concern a divisive, maybe bloody interval till the brand new Congress is put in on Jan. 3, and a combative two years following.
