To the editor: Articles like this one — telling us that local weather change simply isn’t that resonant with voters — all the time remind me of Wile E. Coyote when he ventures far out past the protection of a cliff (“Earth is sizzling, but climate isn’t a hot topic for Democrats in this year’s campaigns,” Sept. 2).
In some unspecified time in the future, the legal guidelines of gravity kick in and Coyote pays the worth and plummets. We, too, are paying the worth for our recklessness — however on this case, there’s no cartoon ending. Trapping extra warmth in Earth’s ambiance causes actual warmth waves, actual flooding, actual prices, actual struggling. Like gravity, it’s simply science.
Please, vote for candidates who vote for clear vitality. Lives rely on us ending fossil gasoline use.
