To the editor: Columnist Anita Chabria is true in her evaluation of the governor’s debate (“90 minutes, 6 gubernatorial candidates, zero big moments — but some differences that matter,” April 23). I like California, however I don’t love what has occurred below Gov. Gavin Newsom. It looks like he did nothing and the state is deep in debt. We solely want one good — simply good, not even nice — candidate for governor and nobody stands out.
The Democrats are the identical as Newsom. They gave him excessive grades when requested — how may they? Put that below the “no guts” class. The Republicans aren’t a lot better. No inspiration right here. However everybody ought to vote, so I’ll.

To the editor: If Katie Porter had been a person, her positions on the problems would have gotten greater than a passing nod. However there, but once more, was the point out of Porter’s “mood.” Perhaps if she “smiled extra,” she would have been taken significantly.
We don’t want charisma. We’d like options. Porter got here out forward on that check.

To the editor: I’m disillusioned that the talk moderators didn’t pose the next easy query to every of the six contributors: “Who gained the 2020 presidential election?” (“Top candidates for California governor spar over wealth, experience and race in fiery debate,” April 22) The solutions would have instructed the viewers all they wanted to know in regards to the health of every candidate.
