To the editor: As a former San Francisco resident, I’ve adopted the information (“‘The vibe shift is’ real. San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie becomes his hometown’s hype man,” April 14) in regards to the troubles my former city has had with homelessness, graffiti, trash and enterprise emptiness with curiosity. Final week, I spent 5 days visiting San Francisco and walked throughout downtown, from the Ferry Constructing to the U.N. Plaza at Metropolis Corridor and the Castro, all of my previous haunts. I discovered town remarkably clear with little graffiti and few seen homeless individuals. Not so true within the Tenderloin, however even there I noticed few camps, simply individuals congregating on the sidewalks.

I used to be relieved to see that town appears to now be heading in the right direction in presenting itself in a greater gentle, extra prefer it was once I lived there within the Eighties and Nineteen Nineties. Sure, there continues to be many vacant retail areas in downtown and close to Union Sq., however when you can create a clear and secure surroundings, it would lure again retail companies once they can see elevated pedestrian foot site visitors.
