To the editor: I all the time take pleasure in these research about individuals leaving California. This research talked about individuals shifting to Texas and Indiana (“Life after California: People find dramatically lower costs, are more likely to buy homes, new data show,” March 31). Are you aware what the minimal wage is in these states? It’s $7.25 an hour. That’s lower than half of the minimal wage right here.

Is the worth of a brand new automotive in Indiana lower than half of what it’s right here? How about groceries? I discover it tough to consider life is healthier financially at $7.25 an hour versus $16.90 an hour.

To the editor: Californians are leaving in droves to search out cheaper housing. Not a shock.

Native California politicians are doing every part of their energy to cease housing improvement via zoning, work necessities and crimson tape. Sadly, additionally not a shock.

However hey, a minimum of we will say we “retained neighborhood character” when all however the wealthiest have moved away.
