    To the editor: The general public has an curiosity in public entities sustaining decorum at public hearings, together with banning the 2 phrases talked about within the article, described as “a racial epithet and a slur in opposition to girls” (“Censorship never stops with just two words,” Aug. 1). Permitting folks to rise up and begin spewing profanities serves no goal, and cheap restrictions needs to be positioned on such speech.

    If such language have been utilized by somebody in a courtroom, the decide would both order the person faraway from the courtroom or concern a contempt of courtroom order. If such limitations on speech are applicable in a courtroom, they’re no much less applicable in a public listening to.

    To the editor: Thanks to visitor contributor Angel Eduardo for the considerate op-ed. The actual fact is that our Metropolis Council would slightly spend time debating what phrases needs to be censored than coping with the crises Los Angeles is going through: homelessness, the housing disaster and how one can shield our good residents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
