    NEW YORK: A federal decide on Monday (Jan 12) nixed a former high-ranking Justice Division official’s try to hitch the crew defending ex-Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s defence crew, ruling that lawyer Bruce Fein had “no authorized foundation” to take action.

    However Hellerstein stated in a written order that solely Maduro has the authority to retain Fein as his lawyer, not unidentified people. He rejected Fein’s request for the decide to summon Maduro to courtroom to ask him if he would love Fein added to the defence crew.

    “If Maduro needs to retain Fein, he has the flexibility to take action,” Hellerstein wrote. “Fein can not appoint himself to symbolize Maduro.”
