    Iran official media says 3,117 people killed during protests

    PARIS: Iranian official media on Wednesday (Jan 21) mentioned 3,117 folks were killed during protests which first erupted in late December and which activists say have been suppressed with a lethal crackdown.

    A press release by Iran’s basis for veterans and martyrs, cited by state tv, mentioned 2,427 folks in that toll together with members of the safety forces have been thought-about underneath Islam to be “martyrs”, calling them “harmless” victims.
