To the editor: I’m a kind of individuals who was injured by a fall whereas strolling in my neighborhood a number of months in the past (“In race for L.A. mayor, no winners but one big loser: The voters,” Might 9). Only one block from dwelling, I tripped on a 2-inch-high little bit of unevenness between two squares of sidewalk. This resulted in 5 stitches on my lip, bruises, scrapes and a concussion. Fortunately, my insurance coverage coated all of my medical care, and there have been no damaged bones or extra critical issues. However I’m nonetheless recovering.

There are a lot of unsafe sidewalks in my neighborhood, some with extra extreme brokenness. A neighbor instructed me his 3-year-old has fallen many occasions on these uneven sections.

This drawback is fixable, however on the lengthy “to-do” checklist for the town. I get that. There are such a lot of harmful issues happening throughout. However does it have to come back to the purpose the place I’m afraid to stroll outdoors my entrance door?
