    Fuel switches on Air India flight cut off moments before fatal crash: Preliminary report

    A preliminary report into the Air India crash final month, which left no less than 270 folks, signifies that gas to the aircraft’s engines was shut off simply seconds after the aircraft lifted off.

    Based on the report, shortly after takeoff, the aircraft’s gas cutoff switches for each engines went from the “RUN” place to the “CUTOFF” place, one after one other inside one second — shutting off gas to each engines.

    Within the cockpit voice recording, one of many pilots is heard asking the opposite why he hit the cutoff swap. “The opposite pilot responded that he didn’t achieve this,” the report acknowledged.

    About 10 seconds later, the gas move was restored to the engines and the automated restart sequence was initiated, however there was not sufficient time to stop affect.

    Simply over 20 seconds after the “CUTOFF” swap was hit, one of many pilots transmitted “MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY,” the report acknowledged.
