To the editor: The battle over the Kenneth Hahn Corridor of Administration jogs my memory of the unsuccessful battle to avoid wasting the Ambassador Lodge (“Fixing this downtown L.A. building would cost $700 million, the county said. Critics say that’s way off,” Dec. 11). It too might have been retrofitted, but the L.A. Unified College District selected to demolish it and construct a pallid duplicate of the unique, shedding one more historic Los Angeles landmark.
What scares me too is, within the occasion of a significant earthquake or hearth, how will the numerous a whole lot of county workers and personal residents quickly and safely evacuate the Fuel Firm Tower? Suppose again to the World Commerce Heart on 9/11.
The federal government is just not at all times the wisest.
