Atlanta Falcons edge-rusher James Pearce Jr. has acquired a big suspension from the NFL stemming from his offseason arrest.
The NFL introduced Friday that Pearce has acquired an eight-game suspension for violating the league’s private conduct coverage.
The suspension stems from his offseason arrest following a home dispute with ex-girlfriend and WNBA participant Rickea Jackson.
The Falcons had probably been bracing themselves for this information since February. Particulars of Pearce’s arrest in Florida were quite disturbing, and he was accused of deliberately rear-ending Jackson’s car to stop her from reaching a police station. He was later charged with three felonies and a misdemeanor, although one of many felony costs was later dropped. The remaining costs are nonetheless pending.
