LOS ANGELES — Dozens of firefighters have been battling a blaze on a container ship docked at a Los Angeles port on Friday evening, based on officers.

The entire 23 crew members have been accounted for and there have been no accidents from {the electrical} hearth, which seems to have began under deck, based on the Los Angeles Fireplace Division. The ship’s cargo consists of hazardous supplies.

By about 7 p.m., the hearth had unfold to a number of ranges of the ship, based on the hearth division, and later an explosion came about mid-deck. It was not instantly clear how the hearth began.

Greater than 100 firefighters have been combating the hearth on the Port of Los Angeles, based on Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. The port is called the busiest in North America.

“LAFD Hazardous Supplies firms are monitoring air high quality as hearth suppression continues,” she mentioned.

The 1,102-foot-long (336-meter-long) vessel, the One Henry Hudson, is operated by One Ocean Categorical, a delivery firm headquartered in Singapore. Earlier than Los Angeles, the ship had most just lately been in Japan, stopping in Kobe, Nagoya and Tokyo. One Ocean Categorical didn’t instantly reply to an e mail from The Related Press requesting remark.
