    SINGAPORE: Singapore mentioned on Saturday (Feb 1) that it expects US firms to stick to each US and Singapore legal guidelines in response to reviews that intermediaries in Singapore had been concerned within the unlawful motion of Nvidia chips to China.

    The US Commerce Division was mentioned to have been trying into the difficulty, following reviews that DeepSeek – the Chinese language firm whose AI mannequin’s efficiency rocked the tech world – had been utilizing refined chips that aren’t allowed to be shipped to China.

    Nvidia’s current quarterly assertion acknowledged that Singapore accounts for about 22 per cent of its income. The corporate additionally mentioned that “most shipments related to Singapore income had been to places aside from Singapore, and shipments to Singapore had been insignificant”.

    Nvidia instructed the web site Investing.com earlier within the week that the income from Singapore was not a sign of any diversion to China.

    “Our public filings report ‘invoice to’ not ‘ship to’ places of our prospects. Lots of our prospects have enterprise entities in Singapore and use these entities for merchandise destined for the US and the West,” the corporate mentioned.
