To the editor: As this text appropriately said, the US has been working to undermine the Cuban financial system for 67 years, ever for the reason that Cuban Revolution in 1959 (“Cuban leaders signal concessions to appease Trump, but also ensure political survival,” March 16). Previous to the revolution, Cuba was a playground for rich People, including the mafia, whereas a big portion of the Cuban inhabitants lived in excessive poverty, with rampant starvation and a scarcity of medical care and training. The revolution introduced reasonably priced housing, healthcare, training and extra meals to Cubans and ended the rampant exploitation by the U.S. elite.

Once we visited Cuba two years in the past, regardless of all the difficulties brought on by a 67-year U.S. blockade, we didn’t see any homelessness, in distinction to what we see each day within the streets of Los Angeles. Persons are supplied with housing, meals subsidies and free medical care.

Given the continuing embargo by one among its closest neighbors, which additionally discourages different nations from investing in Cuba, it’s superb what the nation has been in a position to present to its residents. Think about what Cubans might have achieved had the U.S. not been in an financial battle with them for the previous 67 years. How dare we?
