    China hits back at Trump tariff hike, raises duties on US goods to 125%

    Feb 1, US: Pronounces an extra 10 per cent tariff on all imports from China over its alleged position within the fentanyl provide chain. 

    Feb 4, China: Retaliates with a bundle of tariffs on a spread of US merchandise – 10 per cent levies on crude oil, farm gear, large-displacement autos and pickup vans, and 15 per cent on coal and liquefied pure gasoline (LNG).

    Mar 4, US: Doubles the tariff on China to twenty per cent. 

    Mar 4, China: Responds with an extra 15 per cent tariff on US rooster, wheat, corn and cotton in addition to an additional 10 per cent levy on soybeans, sorghum, pork, beef, aquatic merchandise, vegetables and fruit and dairy imports. 

    Apr 2, US: Trump’s so-called “Liberation Day” when he declares an extra 34 per cent obligation on Chinese language imports as a part of his slew of “reciprocal” tariffs. The reciprocal tariff comes on high of the sooner 20 per cent levy.

    Apr 4, China: Matches the US’ new reciprocal tariff by saying an additional 34 per cent duty on all US imports.

    Apr 7, US: Threatens to boost the reciprocal tariffs on China to 104 per cent if it doesn’t withdraw the 34 per cent levy. 

    Apr 9, US: Follows by way of with the menace, and the upper tariffs kick in. 

    Apr 9, China: Hits again by elevating its earlier 34 per cent levy on US items to 84 per cent.

    Apr 9, US: Responds by elevating the reciprocal tariffs on China additional to 125 per cent later within the day. (That is on high of the 20 per cent tariff the US introduced on Mar 4)

    Apr 11, China: Retaliates by elevating the additional tariff on US imports to 125 per cent as properly.
