    Blanche meets with 2 key Republican senators ahead of confirmation vote

    Republican Sens. Invoice Cassidy and Lisa Murkowski met on Capitol Hill Wednesday afternoon with appearing Legal professional Normal Todd Blanche as they weigh whether or not to assist Blanche’s nomination to function lawyer normal, sources instructed ABC Information.

    Cassidy additionally needs assurances that Blanche doesn’t simply view himself at a lawyer for President Trump.

    The Senate Judiciary Committee voted by a 12-10 occasion line vote Tuesday to advance Blanche’s nomination for a vote by the total Senate later this week.

    Republican Sens. John Cornyn and Thom Tillis, who had mentioned they wouldn’t vote to verify Blanche over considerations over President Donald Trump’s IRS immunity deal and the administration’s so-called $1.8 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund,” voted to advance Blanche out of the committee and to a vote on the Senate flooring after they mentioned they were satisfied with an agreement reached with Blanche.

    Even supposing the settlement reached has no language stopping the resurrection of the controversial fund beneath a special title or technique, Cornyn mentioned the DOJ has been “constant” about its assertions that the fund is useless.
