NASA has revealed the astronauts chosen for the following Artemis mission, following the house company’s historic lunar flyby.
Artemis III will launch the crew within the Orion spacecraft on prime of the House Launch System rocket in 2027 in a “complicated” mission, in keeping with NASA.
The crew consists of three Individuals and an Italian astronaut within the European Astronaut Corps for the European House Company: Commander Randy Bresnik, pilot Luca Parmitano of Italy, mission specialist Frank Rubio and mission specialist Andre Douglas, NASA officers introduced.

One other NASA astronaut, Bob Hines, was named as a backup crew member and also will practice with the 4 astronauts.
“This mission goes to captivate the world and produce us Earth pleasure,” Vanessa Wyche, director of NASA’s Johnson House Heart, stated throughout an occasion saying the crew.
Throughout the occasion, Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman symbolically handed a baton to Bresnik whereas joined by different members of the Artemis II crew.
“The world watched your mission, and over the course of these 10 days, we noticed the way you impressed individuals worldwide. You noticed how one thing was ignited inside individuals, it was ignited inside all of us by watching your mission,” Bresnik informed them, referring to the baton as an “Olympic torch” that the Artemis II crew lit. “We, the Artemis III crew, are honored to have the ability to carry this torch ahead, to have the ability to execute our mission, to make that flame burn brighter and move it on.”

Bresnik joined his fellow crew members in thanking their households, NASA and the European House Company for the “alternative to characterize all of humanity” on the mission.
