The coldest air of the season is invading the Midwest and Northeast because the Mid-Atlantic sees its first snow of the season.
Document low temperatures have been recorded throughout the Midwest and Northeast on Friday morning, together with: 6 levels in Scranton, Pennsylvania; minus 4 levels in Plattsburgh, New York, zero levels in Springfield, Illinois; and 3 levels in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Wind chills — what temperature it looks like — may even be an element throughout the Midwest and Northeast. In Boston and Buffalo, New York, the temperature feels beneath zero Friday morning, whereas New York Metropolis woke as much as wind chills within the teenagers.
The temperature will barely enhance within the afternoon. Wind chills will solely attain the mid-teens in Chicago and mid-20s in New York Metropolis.

This weekend, a blast of chilly air will deliver a renewed chill to Minneapolis, after which subsequent week, one other shot of arctic air will maintain the Midwest and Northeast effectively beneath zero for wind chills.
In the meantime, most of Virginia is waking as much as snow on Friday, with Richmond, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., residents getting their first snowfall of the season. Richmond is forecast to get 1 to three inches whereas D.C. may see 1 inch of snow and slippery roads.

Over a dozen Virginia faculty districts have introduced closures or delays because of the winter climate, based on ABC affiliate WJLA.
And on Saturday, a fast snowstorm will transfer via the Dakotas and Nebraska, dropping a number of inches.
By Saturday night, the snow will attain Iowa. Three to 7 inches of snow is feasible and a winter storm watch is in place there.
Chicago may see a small quantity of snow on Sunday morning.
