Former Denver Broncos free security Justin Simmons is asserting his retirement Wednesday after 9 seasons.

The 2-time Professional Bowl choice performed for Denver from 2016-23 and spent 2024 with the Atlanta Falcons earlier than sitting out the 2025 season.

The Broncos deliberate a press convention with Simmons, 32, at midday native time Wednesday in Englewood, Colo.

Simmons recorded 32 interceptions — not less than two picks in each season — with 71 passes defensed, 5 compelled fumbles, three fumble recoveries, 4.5 sacks and 666 tackles in 134 video games (124 begins).

He shared the NFL lead with a career-high six interceptions in 2022 and returned an interception for a 65-yard landing in Denver’s Week 13 sport at Miami in 2017. He’s tied for seventh in Broncos historical past with 30 profession interceptions.
