    Small plane crash near Minneapolis kills North Dakota state legislator and pilot

    MINNEAPOLIS — A small airplane crashed simply after taking off from Crystal Airport north of Minneapolis on Saturday, killing a North Dakota state legislator and the pilot, authorities stated.

    North Dakota state Rep. Liz Conmy, of Fargo, was killed within the crash, her colleague, state Sen. Tim Mathern, advised the Star Tribune.

    The North Dakota Democratic–Nonpartisan League Celebration, an affiliate of the nationwide Democratic Celebration, confirmed Conmy’s dying in a social media submit, calling her a champion for public schooling, the setting, and transparency.

    “We’re fully heartbroken and gutted by the lack of Consultant Liz Conmy. Her dying is a profound loss for our state,” the get together stated in a submit on X.

    Officers responded to a report of a small airplane crash at 11:51 a.m. and located an plane that had crashed and caught fireplace in a park within the metropolis of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, shortly after taking off, Brooklyn Park Police Inspector Matt Rabe stated.

    Rabe stated the airplane crashed shortly after taking off. He would not say how many individuals had been on the airplane. The Federal Aviation Administration stated in an announcement that two folks had been aboard.

    The Nationwide Transportation Security Board stated it’s investigating a crash involving a Beech F33A airplane and expects investigators to reach on the scene quickly.
