    Harsh charges against protesters are meant to ‘foment fear’

    To the editor: The objective of overcharging defendants is to foment concern and nervousness into the protesters’ lives and discourage demonstrations (“Federal prosecutors ‘coming after’ L.A. protesters. Do some charges encroach on 1st Amendment?,” June 11).

    It doesn’t matter if the case towards the protester is received or misplaced within the federal courts. The intent is to disrupt and discourage different protesters, who’ve to look at them get cuffed, arrested and overcharged.

    To the editor: Social distortion continues the place, in Los Angeles, companies are being looted and defaced, autos are being set on fireplace, freeways are being shut down and American flags are being burned (the Mexican flag seems to be immune). Police are being pelted with projectiles. There’s been one legal criticism that fees a Molotov cocktail was thrown at Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies.

    A photograph of fleeing protesters accompanied this text as a substitute of injured law enforcement officials or enterprise house owners who should rebuild each their enterprise and their lives due to the mob working beneath the guise of a peaceable demonstration.
