    WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday (Could 8) urged India and Pakistan to take instant steps to de-escalate and interact in dialogue, as he pressed Islamabad to finish any assist for “terrorist teams”.

    The 2 nuclear-armed neighbours have engaged in deadly confrontations in latest days, after New Delhi blamed Islamabad for backing an assault on the Indian-run facet of disputed Kashmir. Pakistan has denied the cost.

    Rubio, in calls with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Indian International Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, “emphasised the necessity for instant de-escalation”, a State Division assertion stated.
