    North Carolina town hall erupts in boos as congressman escorted from building, angry constituents

    Republican Congressman Chuck Edwards, R-N.C., was confronted by offended constituents throughout a city corridor assembly on Thursday evening about President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s sweeping cuts throughout the federal government.

    “How do you justify cuts to workers of the VA serving to veterans, particularly these with long run care wants,” requested one constituent who was met with a standing ovation from the raucous crowd in Asheville, North Carolina.

    “So to start with, there have been no cuts to the workers at VA as of this level. Like him or not, Elon Musk has introduced loads of actually sensible individuals,” Edwards responded as he was met with a spherical of boos. Earlier this month, an inner VA memo indicated that the company was making ready to put off 80,000 from its workforce.

    The interplay turned so contentious and hostile that Edwards needed to be escorted out of the constructing.

    “You don’t get to do that to us,” yelled one other constituent.

    Republican management has advised their members to keep away from in-person city halls like these after a number of members had been grilled of their residence districts.

    Edwards, nonetheless, went towards their recommendation on Thursday.
