UK revokes Russian diplomat’s accreditation after Moscow expulsions

LONDON: Britain revoked the accreditation of a Russian diplomat on Wednesday (Mar 12) in response to Russia’s expulsion of two British diplomats this week and it accused Russia of making an attempt to power its embassy in Moscow to shut.

The transfer is the newest in a sequence of tit-for-tat diplomatic sanctions after Russia accused two British diplomats on Monday of spying – allegations rejected by Britain as “baseless” – and gave them two weeks to depart the nation.

“It’s clear that the Russian state is actively in search of to drive the British Embassy in Moscow in the direction of closure and has no regard for the harmful escalatory impression of this,” a International Workplace spokesperson stated in an announcement asserting the transfer.

Russia’s embassy in London didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
